New Concept: Orion variable star #294

Closed katieefrey closed 3 years ago

Name the new concept Orion variable star

Describe the concept https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orion_variable

It could be a BT for both "FU Orionis stars" (http://astrothesaurus.org/uat/553) and "T Tauri stars" (http://astrothesaurus.org/uat/1681). Narrower term for both/either "Variable stars" or "Young Stellar Objects"

Please include any additional comments/feedback Suggestion from Sebastien Derriere, Observatoire de Strasbourg

Potential hierarchy paths:

I think "Orion variable stars" should also live somewhere under "Variable stars," but T Tauri stars and FU Orion stars don't live near each other in that hierarchy.

From Steve Kawaler: Orion Variable - Nope; too many different kinds of stars in Orion (variable and non) for this to be a useful distinction.
