relationships to...? Infrared galaxies Luminous infrared galaxies IRAS galaxies Ultraluminous infrared galaxies
related note... what is an IRAS galaxy? IRAS seems to stand for "Infrared Astronomical Satellite" which discovered "tens of thousands" of Luminous infrared galaxies (LIRGs) -- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luminous_infrared_galaxy Merge IRAS galaxies with Luminous infrared galaxies, with IRAS as npt.
As for EROs...
"Cosmic ray sources" have NPT "Cosmic ray objects" "Ultraviolet sources" has NPT "Ultraviolet objects"
should "Infrared sources" have NPT EROs? or are EROs even more extremely red? https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1086/344440 indicates that that: "16% ± 5% of the ERO population brighter than K = 20.5 are luminous infrared galaxies (LIRGs)" "30~60% of all EROs with (R-K) ≥ 5.3 and K ≤ 20.5 are dusty, star-forming systems at z ≥ 1"
Unable to get further feedback on this.
I implemented the merge of IRAS galaxies with Luminous infrared galaxies.
If EROs are needed, please open a new issue.
Name the new concept Extremely Red Objects
Describe the concept EROs : not sure about this one, but we have a lot of them in SIMBAD, and this category is used in many papers : https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1086/344440 mostly for extragalactic sources, but sometimes for low-mass stars https://ui.adsabs.harvard.edu/search/q=%22extremely%20red%20objects%22&sort=date%20desc%2C%20bibcode%20desc&p_=0
