I'm having a lot of issues with AI in general wanting to get out of vehicles. It appears there were some changes and I -think- it has to do with the AI going into combat mode and feeling they need to abandon the vehicle immediately. This is very similar to AI abandoning disabled vehicles and appears to affect AI even if they are surrendered (have only done very brief testing on this, need to verify further).
Not sure if this is in the scope of Ares to fix, but if there are any commands that would disable AI disembarking, I would love to know. This AI behavior absolutely killed my embassy extraction mission this weekend.
Ah that could be part of the reason, they were driving near an area of combat.
I have seen this as well but haven't done enough testing to exclude our AI mod as cause (ASR_AI3).
Similarly, transport helicopters really dislike to land when called in via the reinforcement module. This is caused by changes done by BI and disabling AI "target"/"autotarget" for the pilot tends to fix it.
A similar thing might work the ground based reinforcements.
For reference, this is what I use to get AI helicopters to land reliably and it works fine, even under fire (as long as they dont get shredded).
I'll try record this happening next time I'm in Zeus but I've noticed the past month or so when I spawn in re-enforcements the AI keep trying to get out. It's worst with the transport trucks, it drives 10m, AI jump out, AI jump in, repeat. The unarmed heli almost immediately tries to land to let a single unit out who needs to heal (?), before carrying on OK.
Does anyone else experience this recently, or is it one of our mods messing with the AI.
