public art is all over!

Google - I love you!

I am creating a database of public art projects throughout the US and we
have integrated google maps to allow our users to see where works are and
help them get from one to the next. It would be wonderful if there were a
quick way to note that a piece of public art were present. Lets say, an
icon... 

Let me know if baking brownies would help this process!

Please share your maps, if it's possible, i'd like to see it !
So you need a "piece of public art" icon.
Tell me if this picture

well
a public art ?
After that, we will decide what icon fits the best.
I think it will be in the category "culture", then in pink color background.

Just one thing : we are not Google, we are just 2 guys making fun with 
photoshop :)

Yes, that picture is an accurate representation of public art projects. Our 
maps are
not yet live... so I'll have to take a rain check on the demonstration. Sorry!

The Culture category would be perfect and I guess I'll have to take pink if 
that has
already been pinned down.

Hmm, no, not really.  I love this icon, I have really been thinking on how to 
solve 
the difference between a Monument, a Statue and Public Art and I think we (you) 
have 
now nailed it.  Even if the public art icon very well could be Tourism I still 
think 
it should be Culture, since it is art and not historically/cuturally 
interesting.

For me this case is closed! :)

I wonder if the icon doesn't look more like a hieroglyphic than a reference to a
public art piece. This is the problem I've been having as well - how to 
differentiate
public art from other things.

Well, hieroglyphic stuff can be represented by a cat & a strange dancing woman 
:)

Right now, I don't have any other idea for public art and since Matthias likes 
it :
it will make it for our collection.
