Geographic and Media Diversity of Preservation Storage

We will need to address NDSA Level 3 for Storage which specifies

• have at least one copy in a geographic location with a different disaster threat than the other copies
• have at least one copy on a different storage media type
• track the obsolescence of storage and media

In our current set up with push bags to an S3 bucket which pushes to Glacier (in us-west-2). We could consider pushing to another storage system such as Wasabi or Backblaze. We could consider shipping to another region in AWS (to accomplish geographic diversity).

we are currently achieving geographic dispersal with main bucket in one region, backup bucket on another account in another region, and backup backup bucket on a different provider in a third region
