Hello, @alejandrolmiguel and I thought it would be a good idea to have a press tab on the website to facilitate contact with the press. The information we would like to have in the press tab would be:

• Access to the blog
• Compilation of news (link to publications, events, our own announcements that we want to highlight, 2 or 3)
• Press releases (2 or 3 latest)
• Summary
• The press kit
• Contact (Mail)

Yes, this would simply be a button that takes journalists directly to the blog. The idea is to make it easier to access the information most relevant to them in one tab.

@derberg Yes, it's very common for any company, enterprise, or project to have a press kit, it is very important in terms of public relations and communication. It's a document that gathers all the relevant information of the project (mission, objectives, values, etc.), it could be said that it is the letter of introduction.

Aside from the list of the things provided in the issue description, I think we should also expose on the press table the brand files, logos I mean, the ones that we have here https://drive.google.com/drive/u/1/folders/17XAR-6D8Le7iQT3Y6laKNBsaGj_8DStF ?

Also, the issue is called press tab but it also might be just a press drop down in navigation with just a bunch of links maybe, to all these different resources, or dedicated views. Just a hint to explore different options, and review how others do it

I think the most important are the newsgathering points, press releases, and the press kit because the rest would be links.

• Newsgathering: in this point, we propose to gather the most important news about AsyncAPi that has appeared in important media.
• Press releases: always update with the last 2 or 3 press releases, for now, we have one, right?
• Press Kit: would be nice to be reviewed by more people and have more contributions (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1U3k_YnMIdJUaTmw16X6CZR5KPMgl0_Ml/edit#heading=h.9k4byahtrni1)

@derberg I think it is a very good idea to put the brand files as well.

We can see how this information is presented in other projects.

Sorry, I just had my last exam today! Okay, As far as I understand it would be just a section to give insights about many things Asyncapi is up to .

1. So I have to build a section where we can display/render the latest news about AsyncAPI
2. One press releases section to have the latest 2 or 3 press releases, Suggestion : we can link to the section having all press releases
3. How you want to display presskit ? Currently its a doc file . A separate article kind of page or anything else ?

Please let me now where I have to code for same , any file reference or folder or frontend design which is needed to be built 😊

  • Logos @fmvilas I guess you need to cleanup there a bit as there are still some AsyncAPI Hub things + eve and chan is not there

That would be it from me. This would be the first part, a footer with links to external resources.

Now the second part is the list of articles about AsyncAPI in media. @Barbanio I guess you are referring to articles from InfoQ, Linux Foundation. Please first suggest a list of articles and what would be the URL pointing to the view with list, asyncapi.com/? asyncapi.com/mentions?

Yes, I'm referring to those types of articles. These are the most relevant ones I have found, I'm sure I'm forgetting some of them. The same news is covered by different media and different news is covered by the same media like Info Q. In principle, I think we can put them all acquiring the added value of those media that talk about AsyncAPI. What do you think? On the other hand, I think they would fit better in asyncapi.com/mentions.

I think we should put emphasis on news diversity and avoid duplication. In other words, media news about "AsyncAPI joining Linux Foundation" should show up just once and from different source than InfoQ cause we have other articles from them.

I see you have one article in German, so we definitely need to clearly separate in the UI, news in English from news in different lanugages.

Yes, it makes sense, the same goes for the Postman and AsyncAPI news. I have selected the media by the quality of the news and by the number of visits per month and the list would look like this:

I think it is fine to list mentions in other languages, why not, just pick some written in Spanish, at least one.

I imagine the list of articles shows up like this but of course, instead of people image, there would be an article cover photo. Such a grid view could be separated by some label, English-written articles at the top, and then below other languages

I only don't know which links and in which way we should show them, I mean to which groups we should split the links. In the future we should have groups: Tooling, Support, Company and there I have a problem for Press link/group, because usually Press is an another link in the Company group but Łukasz wants in the https://github.com/asyncapi/website/issues/195#issuecomment-847689807 comment that Press should be as a separate group, next to the Company. For me we can go with it, but let's see what other people think, @fmvilas @jonaslagoni @smoya @Barbanio

Related to articles: I think that we should have an 4th link named Articles with link asyncapi.com/press-and-media and this page should be similar to our /blog page, however, we should create this as the next PR, because there will be a lot to do.

I think it is ok if we go as simple as possible here, so just have two sections in white footer,

• Press with link mentioned in previous comments
• Others with links that are currently in the footer, except for the press

in follow up PRs we can extend Others into separate sections, in a separate discussion about it.

@Barbanio I see there are style issues with the headings on the press kit. For instance here but it's repeating the same thing in every heading. I think we should not be copying the styles from the original document and instead put the headings in a single line. Does it make sense?

Hello Everyone 😁. Heyyy @derberg, as discussed in Slack, I would like to work on this issue and really excited. So to start with that, as referred earlier can we have postman website design or can we make any changes Like this, Can we go with just two groups:- one for press and articles, another for other links, As you mentioned @derberg in https://github.com/asyncapi/website/issues/195#issuecomment-861464556. Just to get my understanding better, I will do some rough work with draft layout and let u all know by tomorrow evening . It would be really helpful if I get all your inputs and references 😃

can we have postman website design

we definitely cannot follow Postman 1:1 as we should follow https://github.com/asyncapi/brand/blob/master/brand-guidelines/README.md that @mcturco published just yesterday. But yeah, the idea is pretty common everywhere, so columns with links. What I like in the Postman footer is the Social section. We should definitely get it too, instead of the current list of icons only

Can we go with just two groups:- one for press and articles, another for other links

• Press should just be a link to separate view, where articles and other stuff is, that @Barbanio provided in other comment
• we also need new Brand link that should link to https://github.com/asyncapi/brand/blob/master/brand-guidelines/README.md (and long term I guess also separate view on the website)
• And as mentioned in previous paragraph, we need Social group

I'm not sure how to name group that will have Press and Brand links 🤔

But yeah, basically new footer overrides 👇🏼

• About is so much outdated that it feels wrong to have it there :(
• Shop can move also to footer, next to Press and Brand
• we need to keep Jobs there too, in new footer, at least I think so :)

Heyy Everyone😃. So to get an idea, made some changes in the footer and played with it

I would like to get everyone's suggestions, ideas and improvements required.

Explanation:

• About, Blog, Shop and Jobs are the same links
• Press - link for a separate page to render the press release documents and articles , as mentioned in this comment [Note: this link, for now, does not point to any page or it is not a working link]
• Brand - link to https://github.com/asyncapi/brand/blob/master/brand-guidelines/README.md (which will be made into a separate page)
• Social Group - with all the social media link. @derberg I am wondering whether it will be a good idea to add slack channel to this list if there is a way to do that
• NOTE: I have added AsyncAPI primary logo (light) svg code in the ./components/img folder with the name AsyncAPILogoLight and used in the footer. Please give me your suggestions regarding this as I dont know if this is right way to do this as I am a newbie😊

And @derberg can I start to work on the new page to render the press release documents and articles that @Barbanio mentioned or what is your plan to implement this? 😄 😄.

I would like to appreciate @mcturco for the work 😄. @mcturco, I want to bring one issue to your concern that in the logos directory, the primary logos of AsyncAPI PNG format has two variants right... so there the light version was named as dark and the other way for the dark version. Kindly please have a look at it.

Hey @Harish-b-13! Thank you so much for putting this together. I am loving the layout that you proposed! I just have a few UI suggestions. Here is a quick mock-up that I put together to help visualize what I am proposing we change:

• Updating the background color to the dark color that is in the brand guidelines. I am not sure if this color exists yet in the website tailwind config, but if it doesn't we should definitely add it!
• Using the heading font for the "Building the future of Event-Driven Architectures." to match the rest of the branding material where we have used this tagline.
• Changed some of the colors to create visual hierarchy. The gray text color is #9C96A8 and probably also needs to get added into the tailwind config. I need to create a cool gray shades color palette, but for now I think we can just call this cool-gray
• Re-arranged some of the footer text/copyright verbiage, just to keep it from being the most prominent content in the footer.
• I changed the column named Company to The Initiative but I am wondering if anyone else has other ideas 🤔 The reason why I don't like Company is because we aren't really a company, as we don't make profit. But curious about what others think.
• I moved Brand under The Initiative as I don't think it makes sense to be grouped with Press links
• Added the slack link, there is a link that we can send users to join our slack workspace and it is currently on the website elsewhere

I am still pretty confused about the Press links that we need to have in the footer, forgive me if I missed it earlier in this issue but I know the current Press link is just a mailto: link, which I don't think the link text communicates that properly. I think we still need to have a further discussion on how we are going to organize these links, but just wanted to propose my UI idea.
