Open Marcinbar opened 7 years ago

Marcinbar commented 7 years ago

I have a problem with Gothic 1 maybe Gothic 2 too which is white screen but game start normally, voice and music play correctly. Only movie and graphic has problems.

My PC: Intel I5 4460 + Intel HD 4600

ataulien commented 7 years ago

Are the menus working? If you get ingame, can you open the menu on CTRL+F11 and disable some of the rendering-options?

(Black flicker is 'normal' in Gothic 1 using that advanced menu)

Marcinbar commented 7 years ago

Yes menu working. I disable most or all options and no changes. I see 0 FPS in advanced menu.

I also had Black flicker.

Here is my log from Gothic 2 NoTR Log.txt

Katharsas commented 7 years ago

17.1 confirmed working here: https://github.com/degenerated1123/GD3D11/issues/24 Can you please delete UserSettings.bin (inside GD3D11 folder) and then try 17.3 (and if that also has the problem, try 17.2 too) so we know which changes introduced this problem?

Marcinbar commented 7 years ago

I copied all files to system folder and start the game. I saw autoupdate NormalMaps and white screen. When done everything still see white screen. I dont have any UserSettings.bin file.

17.2 - white screen 17.3 - white screen 17.4 - white screen 17.5 - white screen

On Polish forums everyone with integrated and dedicated GPU have this problem when run game on IGPU

Log from zspy log.txt

Katharsas commented 7 years ago

Well sadly i can't reproduce this because i don't have an DirectX11 enabled IGPU.

Katharsas commented 7 years ago

The commit that introduces this problem is the first commit after 17.1 release: https://github.com/degenerated1123/GD3D11/commit/c1847460534bd792f8262b8c1265ca3f43161be5

ghost commented 7 years ago

I confirm. On 17.1 version is all ok but i have low fps.

Mindriel commented 6 years ago

Hi. I am have the same problem. I'm on Lenovo with Integrated card and a GeForce 660. I used the X17.1 tag for G1 - the only one that does not end in a total white screen. Yet I have 9-11 FPS. Not a pleasure to play I must say. Anything I can do to debug it? I'd help, but need some guidance what and how I can do it. Thanks.

Katharsas commented 6 years ago

Why are u using the integrated graphics? Select the Geforce for Gothic in NVidia 3D Settings.

dontpokethebear3893 commented 6 years ago

Also have this issue with an i5-7200u/ Intel HD 620

Nirei commented 6 years ago

Seeing this same problem on Intel Core i5 - Intel HD Graphics 5500 (which happens to be my only graphics card :_( )

Ctrl+F11 menu works but screen stays fully white.

Katharsas commented 6 years ago

Maybe there will be a fix at some point but a 5500 is probably way too slow anyway. 17.5+ is not really much faster than 17.1 as far as i know, so if 17.1 is too slow, you are probably out of luck anyway. Play without renderer with 60 fps fix mod.

irozhkov commented 6 years ago

Intel Iris 6100 - also does not work. White screen only

GamayaMrutyor commented 6 years ago

Guys please how do I switch to this 17.1 version? I have no idea where to find it... also having the white-screen problem. I tried to look everywhere I could think of, but I am not very good at this. I have no problem with lower fps, I just want to be able to play at all with at least a bit better than 20x20 resolution :-(

Katharsas commented 6 years ago

For Gothic 2 here: https://github.com/ataulien/GD3D11/wiki/Home-(EN) Don't do the update. For Gothic 1 i think there is no build currently, so you'd need to build it yourself (or i could do a build). But think there were quite a lot of fixes after 17.1 for Gothic 1, so it would probably have lots of bugs.

GamayaMrutyor commented 6 years ago

Man, first of all, thank you very much for your reply :)

I will be happy only with the G2 build, because that is actually what I was looking for because of the G2: Returning 2.0 I wanna play.

I installed everything and used the build you sent me link for and it works man! No white screen!! :)

But...

I might done something very stupid. When I was trying all kinds of things and looking for help on internet, I found this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1kqRDSKORI on youtube and deleted the "InstalledVersion" and "Version" files in the RegEdit as he advices from 0:35. Then I couldn't replace them, because the video is outdated and the links don't work. I only have the "Default" now. And even though the Gothic II (even with all the additional things from the G2: Returning 2.0) starts and works, when I press "New Game", it freezes and this goes up: wrg ... which I found out is probably a problem of me removing the files. Now I am finding out, that these files were available only for the DX 9 version and are not available for DX 11 outside the instalation of Windows, is that true? I am lost and fcked up now :-( also some types videos stopped working.

Is there any chance you would know how to deal with this?

Thank you again...

White screen at start, fix for nividia: open nividia control panel : global settins - preffered graphics processor: high-performance Nividia processor.

Worked for me. I tested it even. back and forth.

Teikeji commented 3 years ago

Couldn't find a place to do it through nvidia control panel, but looked around and found a solution. If you have windows 10, go to Settings -> Display -> Graphics Settings. Clicked browse, selected gothic, options, and selected my graphics card. Worked great.

I had the same issue, d11 17.1 with only 7FPS. I completely skipped the dx11 installation. Now it's working fine on my integrated graphic card! :)
