Using Drizzle ORM / MySQL (PlanetScale) in another project, I think the first-class support for json columns is a good fit here

Unfortunately PlanetScale sunsetted their hobby plan. Will look into Drizzle ORM / SQLite

We went with Turso / SQLite. Not too bad actually
