i think this not realy need, because usb modeswitch turn dongle to usual 
0x12d1:0x1001

usbmodeswitch turn it to 0x12d1:0x14ac
If u2diag=0 than chan_dongle convert it to 0x12d1:0x1001.

in my case huawei E153u-1  was not discoverable by chan_dongle

then i have added this line in pdiscovery.c   and now solved
{ 0x12d1, 0x14ac, { 3, 2, /* 0 */ } },          /* E153u-1 */

thanks for ur suggestion
note . E153u-1   with kernel 2.6.32-358   has one way audio issue
after upgrade to    kernel 3.0xx from elrep  now it is working fine

for 0x12d1, 0x14ac i can got from lsusb command, but these numbers { 3, 2,   
From where i can get them manually?
