The message generation fix is pretty trivial and is likely failing builds on any machine from time-to-time, as is the nature of such a race condition.
As for the changes to affordances; I really can't explain the entire situation. 64-bit Fedora builds are fine without it, but 32-bit builds fail to find some of the values when affordances_lib is linked against the other library.
