Investigate using sfheaders over sf #106

Would likely necessitate dropping any crs transformations (e.g., in clip/erase) but that may be ok anyway...

I think this may be one step too far at least for now - there are too many interconnected things and would require duplicating a lot of sf and would be very fragile.
