I think there is some mix up.
This project (atextor/icat) is not the icat
that is provided by the kitty terminal. See some more explanation here: https://github.com/atextor/icat/issues/10#issuecomment-709703487
This project only prints the characters ▀ and ▄ in the right colors - displaying an actual image can only be done if the terminal emulator supports it, such as kitty, iTerm2 or Terminology. Every terminal that supports this does it a bit differently, which is why kitty's icat only works in kitty. I do not know if alacritty supports image display.
Regarding releases and version: Since there is no new development taking place in this project, there are no new releases. 对不起我不能帮您 :)
