In an act of desperation I finally wiped my MacBook and reinstalled OSX from scratch. In the 4 hours since the problem hasn't recurred once.
Now I think about it, the issue started to manifest round about when I installed Yosemite. My old install was an update from Mavericks - maybe something about this makes apps under Yosemite unstable?
I've caught this in a video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWbtz8eaaU0
I'd only started the app a few moments ago after the previous lockup.
Unhelpfully, QuickTime's screen recorder tool hasn't captured the mouse pointer. After I type the second line of garbage it turns into the spinning beachball and remains so for several minutes. Sometimes Chocolat becomes responsive again, sometimes it requires a force-quit.
It's done this three times in the last hour & is ruining my productivity. Help!
Latest version of Chocolat (3.0.2) on a MacBook Air (11-inch, Mid 2011) running Yosemite 10.10.1 (14B25).
