statistics based battery drain estimate #127

Currently the battery life estimate is too simplistic. It requires us to figure
out the drain rates on our own and key them in the settings.

Would it be possible for this app to collect data points, saving them in a log
and determining battery drain rates over a period of time to give us an
automatic educated average estimate of battery time left based on the actual
usage of the device ?

Say the app polls battery use data between 0600 and 2300 each day over a week
and comes up with an average daily drain rate that actually reflects the
habbits of the user.

One additional thought.
The current setup is actually very well thought out (I love the idea of
reporting three values for ... light, normal and constant use). What I am
really wishing for is that their calibration is done automaticly behind the
scenes.

I've been giving a lot of thought to this lately and think I might have a
workable solution before long. I still can't commit to it 100%, but I hope for
something to come out in the next month or so.

p.r.cieslik: I'm not sure, but I'll consider it. If you're serious about it,
you should add it as a feature request here. Since it has nothing to do with
this issue, it's likely to get lost as just a comment here.
