Add comments to pom and remove unused dependencies - [merged]

Merges feature/clean-up-maven-config -> development

This merge request solves issue #19. It adds:

• removed unused dependencies: slf4j
• add additional constraints to checkstyle: warnings are now seen as errors and the maximum tolerated amount of errors is 0
• add comments to dependencies and plugins to understand their function better.
• update dependencies
