Copy from `:nselect` behaves unrealiably #3379

When requested from describe-slot, describe-class or describe-mode, it doesn't consistently works. Couldn't find a reliable recipe that reproduces the issue everytime.

Note that it is unrelated to commits 281401305 and 5d18d0a9143441e61679b85c88a2673bd6ccc70e.
