Hi.

It would be nice if the README contained what is currently built here. Just like... One at least to see how it looks like. People are visual beings for the greater part. :)

And how to download 👍

Take a look at CONTRIBUTING.md#building, you will be able to run the project locally by installing all developper resources with the source files.

AFAIK, there is no release, so you need to setup the development environment for xray and run it locally as in "dev-mode".

See https://github.com/atom/xray/issues/44#issuecomment-373395027, I believe this is still accurate - there isn't much UI to show, as the backend of the editor and its systems are still in heavy development. Maintaining a heavily WIP screenshot in the README probably doesn't add much value; that's just my opinion though.

Also see images in https://github.com/atom/xray/issues/30#issuecomment-371764720 if you're curious

Yeah, thanks everyone for the responses. I think it's too early for a screenshot to be interesting or really stay up to date. Thanks for the interest though. We'll get there eventually.

Even though this has been closed, I’d like to voice my opinion for a screenshot as well. I don’t mind if it is boring and incomplete. It would save me from having to load my computer with dependencies and save me from the struggle of trying to build it myself (I’ve tried multiple times in the past with no success). A simple screenshot every few weeks doesn’t seem like a terrible idea and would also give people a unique view of how the editor grows, visually, over time.

@JosephTLyons The screenshots linked above by @z64 are essentially complete. There isn't much of a UI to screenshot in the first place currently as most work has been on the code that will eventually power it. The current UI is just barely enough to be able to trigger the backend stuff and make sure it is working as intended.

Sorry, I missed the comment containing links to the screenshots, thanks.

Also thanks from me! 😊
