I made some other changes that conflicted with your PR. I swapped the deprecated Object.observe in favor of the MutationObserver API like you suggested.

I still haven't pushed the update to APM, but please pull the latest changes and let me know if that solved your issues. Otherwise, if this PR solved your issue refactor it so I can take another look and merge it.

Still is an issue. Merged trunk in and resolved the conflicts.
