Unable to install any packages in atom. #884

I was trying to install packages in Atom but it was giving me several errors and niether the featured pacakges were getting displayed nor whatever i serached for. I uninstalled Atom and after downloading the new version installed it again. Current version is 1.45.0 But, even now I am unable to download any packages. Whenever i try to search for any package it shows the following error. "Unable to verify the first certificate"

I have no idea about what this first certificate refers to.

Does this problem still exist? It's possibly caused by atom.io. Checkout atom/atom#21100
