When attempting to open an epub files with Atom 0.115.0 and Archive View 0.33 the editor reports 'Loading archive…' but after several minutes there is no further progress. Mac OS X 10.8

Would it be possible for you to link to the file that didn't open?

Kevin,

Sorry to take so long to get back - I tested the files again and found that it was only those that had been amended using Sigil that failed to open with Atom. I don't know why this should be but it seems that Sigil is repackaging the .epub differently from other epub editors.

Okay, if you could still link to a file that is causing issue, I'd be happy to take a look and find out why it just says Loading... forever instead of showing an error.

I updated the view to show the error so it won't just say Loading... forever, this should give you details about why it couldn't be displayed, thanks for reporting this.

Kevin - thanks and yes - it now reports;

Reading the archive file failed: Unsupported platform type (11)

in nice red type :)

Here's a file that it balked at - I've tried searching through the package to see what's different from an epub file that will open but I'm not seeing anything that would force an 'unsupported platform' error.

Just tried repackaging the epub using Calibre and now it open fine in Atom. So it is something weird that Sigil is doing during the packaging that's at fault.
