Happening to me also, on opening of git pane.
Can you try clearing saved state and let us know if still get the error by just opening the Git pane? Make sure to save/backup and work since you'll lose any unsaved data:

Are you also seeing this error when you open the Git pane @mturquette? If so, are you seeing the error with any project or just a particular project?
In fact I saw this error the first time I ever opened the git pane after installing the plugin. I haven't seen it since, despite trying a few different way to trigger the error. The project was the Linux kernel sources.
