In terms of texture, I think the blocked door would probably also be plastered, although we could also use a stone-wall pattern.
The exterior fill of the door would be flush with the outside face of the wall, and the framing probably wasn't visible, though the quoins along the jamb and the arch stones probably stayed in place, like the following (except the stones would have been covered with plaster):
The bench also seems to be at an angle to the facade of the wall, and cuts into the doorframe -- it would be better if it just ran next to it, and didn't cut in. It would also be great -- if possible -- to divide it into the three trapezoidal blocks that appear in the photo above. On the largest of those blocks -- the one closest to the corner of the building -- there's a gameboard. I'll provide a plan and a photo; since it's something we focus on in the publications, it's worth illustrating it if at all possible. Also, we can get rid of the wood door visible from the outside; it would have been replaced by the stone blocking.
The same phase saw the blocking of the alley-side door to room 33, and the construction of a bench made of marble column capitals in front of the blocked door. I've provided both a sketch on the model and an actual photograph of the bench (too complicated to draw in a powerpoint slide).
