Phase 2: division wall and stairs between rooms 25 and 31 #70

When the ground-floor door between 31 and 38 was blocked, the connection between the internal courtyard and the open space in front of room 30 was also blocked. In order to provide access from that space to the upper floor of room 38, an additional flight of stairs was added, running up from room 25. The lower part was certainly stone; the last few steps were probably wood.

We modeled this in Second Life, too, so I've included another couple of screen-grabs to make it a little clearer than my PPT attempt.

You can just see the stairs sticking out from behind the wall dividing 34 and 25 here.

We're very close here, but I think that the wall should be a bit further toward room 25 (that is, pushed more toward the southeast). See the schematic plan for this phase here: https://utexas.box.com/s/11wzeqx6h8cn82ugsued1gkw1932bnvj or the state plan here: https://utexas.box.com/s/vb1vcw7c72esvkqog9gxksqhw69x7cdh. The dividing wall is more or less on the same line as the southeast wall of room 38.

Almost there. The wall is in the right place now, but the block that formed the back of the stone part of the staircase should also stop where the wall is now, rather than projecting into the space under the landing (part to remove is highlighted in yellow).
