How does the roof work? #78

First, here's a close up of the roof. I think it might be a bit too clean and should have some more debris from the mud mortar scattered around. I can't quite place my finger on it yet, but the tiles and mortar are looking just a bit too uniform. image

Here's my big question, I’m suspicious about the edges of the roof. Your Unity build does have the roof beams coming out a fair way from the side of the building, but there just doesn’t seem to be enough structure to hold up the tiles, mud mortar and reeds without supporting beams spanning lengthwise (which I have seen references of, but they appear far more modern). Looking at references like Pompeii, I think you could only get half a tile overhang from the side of the wall. The beams could be shortened and you wouldn’t need anything underneath the tiles like the reeds. image image

Also not sure what sort of restoration work may have been done (there are certainly some modern gutters, but that might also support the argument that the original tiles did not overhang much from the building!).
