[suggestions] Fire 3 replacing Fire 1 #256

What is thy suggestion? My suggestion, is to make it so that Fire 3 replaces Fire 1 whenever Firestarter is activated or whenever Umbral Ice is activated.

1) Are abilities in question must be truly mutually exclusive? Technically no, but in both cases, there is no reason to use Fire 1 over Fire 3:

In both cases, Fire 3 is opportunity and mana cost-free, and ends up being a better DPS option than using Fire 1.

2) Does this actually saves you button space? Yes, one button, as both cases fully covers the use cases of Fire 3. While it's not much, it's honest work.

3) Is it wild and wacky? Other than the fact this suggestion is a 2-in-1, no.

4) Is the overall level of intelligence required to execute is about as low as the floor? No. Unless you find it hard enough to think of clicking Fire 3 instead of Fire 1 when in Umbral Ice, but in which case, why are you playing BLM ?

There is one edge case where it is desirable to have both a firestarter and fire 1 available N145 reopeners that happen after downtime in a boss such as trio mechanics or setpiece mechanics in that case you reopen with thunder 3 followed by instant ice paradox then immediately transpose into a fire paradox followed by a fire 1, this is to ensure you maximize the chances to generate a firestarter while also capping on astral fire If you manage to generate the firestarter on the fire paradox cast, your suggestion would force players to immediately spend the firestarter, as you still need to be AF3 to do fire 4s, but you would no longer have access to f1 due to the combo action

That sounds like such a niche counterpoint to my case, that it could be argued to be covered by the ability to just disable the combo in such rare situations...

That being said, it's great that i did get a reply after so long. Thanks for caring !
