multi room bug #24

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. I build three rooms and connected them with holes over the full wallsize.
Then I placed a fire in the middle compartment
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expected to have the same layer high with same temperature in each room.

I got a higher temperature with a smaller layer high in the middle compartment.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

CFAST 6.1.0.32, Windows XP

Please provide any additional information below.

This is the expected output from a two-zone multi-compartment model. You are
certainly correct that in real-life the layers would equilibrate to be equal in
all
compartments, the simplifications in assuming each compartment can be
represented by
a two distinct control volumes leads to the behavior you see.

This would be better placed in the discussion groups rather than as a bug
report for
the CFAST software. See http://groups.google.com/group/cfast
