cfast installer and 64 bit win xp problems #68

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Tried installing cfast using setup_r273.exe on a Win XP 64 bit machine. The
installer failed with an error that the file system was inadequate. I could
force the installation by starting the installer and copying the msi file
before it was automatically deleted post-failure and then manually extracting
the files using msiexec.

The newest install has been tested on 64 bit Windows 7, but not XP. We'll
investigate.

Just posted CFAST 6.2.0 to the google code site. We've tested it on most
variants of Windows. Let us know if the new install works on your 64-bit XP.

Found the issue in the installer setup. It's not enough to tell it Windows XP
is acceptable. For Windows XP 64 bit, you have to allow any OS version to
install. This may cause problems with someone trying to install it on WIndows
2000, but we can deal with that on a case by case basis. Fix coming shortly.

setup_62.exe, available as a featured download on the google code home page
should fix this. Tested on NIST XP 64 machine. Let us know if there are
problems on other machines.
