Skills Summit program #17

We need to finalise the Skills Summit program. I'm proposing:

Satellite event two weeks before eRA/Skills Summit day

  1. Carpentries Connect day - Liz Stokes and Matthias Liffers are happy to lead this - Wednesday, 29th September between 10am and 4pm (tbc)
  2. Skills Summit working groups confab - need a lead for this - Thursday, 30th September - 12 to 4pm with a break (tbc)

Skills Summit Day - Kathryn Unsworth happy to take the lead, unless someone else wants to step in - Wednesday, 13 October 11am to 4pm with an hour break (date confirmed - session times tbc) - Sessions:

  1. Plenary session - setting the scene
  2. Communities - working groups report back - community celebrations and news stories e.g. launch of Carpentries Consortium, development of training materials (Paula Martinez - 15 minutes), DDeRP Skills Working Group, ARCOS training events?
  3. Community action session #1 -
  4. Community action session #2 -
  5. Networking session?

Could we hold concurrent Community action sessions on different topics?

Satellite event one week after eRA/Skills Summit - Spill over event - what did we forget to address?

  1. Skills presentations/posters/BoFs not submitted to eRA because it's a paid conference.
  2. Orgs we don't hear a lot from - BoM, CSIRO, GA, NCRIS - training initiatives
