trackpad zooming too slow #6143

Your idea

Hi,

I could not find an issue describing this already, feel free to close and mention if there is one. related to #4212 and #4243 pretty much describes a possible solution already.

Zooming takes way too long using my Apple Magic Trackpad, this post contains some GIFs that hopefully explain this issue.

  • I doubt too many people will object (or even notice) a slightly less responsive setting for zoom.
  • If I'm wrong, we can create a setting for it @Tantacrul in 4243

I've noticed it and I'd love a setting for this so that I can update to the newer releases, I'm stuck on v2.3.3 atm :)

Problem to be solved

zooming on MacBooks/trackpads would be more efficient and not as slow

@MariusQuabeck if what you're looking for is already described in #4212, why create a new ticket? Besides, as you've mentioned, #4243 might have fixed your issue, so why don't you upgrade to a newer version containing the fix and see if it works for you?

I am running 3.4.2 for this test. The mentioned issues/prs are introducing the feature that is now my issue. They are not the solution but talking about a possible fix that could be introduced if the change introduces issues for users. that's why I created a ticket because it does affect me :)

Ah, I see now. I got confused by you saying you're stuck on 2.3.3 :)

MariusQuabeck commented 8 months ago

yea sorry, English is not my first language :) I'm "stuck" on v2.3.3 because I edit ~10 shows a week and versions that came after it for some reason or another didn't work with my workflow. I'm giving the most recent version a shot now and am reporting my findings :)

any comment if this is something you'd consider looking into or not?
