Release 2.0.0 #224

I would like to target the release of audbackend 2.0.0 for Friday morning (2024-05-10).

I have renamed already the main branch to 1.0.x, to be able to make bug fix releases if needed. I further renamed dev to main, and hence selected the main branch as target of this pull request.

Related pull request for audb is prepared and approved at https://github.com/audeering/audb/pull/386.

Only to prevent you from merging it before Friday ;)

I can also change that, and you just do the review, and I will do the merging then on Friday.

Ah, I missed your comment in the description that you plan to release on Friday. Makes sense to keep it a draft then.
