perhaps this can be done in the nma.model function where the user can specify either mu1, mu2, se1, se2 and rho OR deltamu, deltase AND either MD or SMD

If I am to use SMD, can I use confidence interval of SMD instead of standard deviation?

At this point BUGSnet does not support SMD because it does not support contrast-based data. We are working on it.
