Drag & Drop data objects, additional views and other ideas from Airtable #540

It seems to me that Ethercalc is moving away a bit from a pure online spreadsheet and I very much like where this is going.

There is a nice online service that also goes in that direction which could serve as inspiration for some advanced features related to additional data objects, relations and view types (extending on the already very nice form view). See:

I like air table, I recommended it once to solve a problem I saw on a forum. It is a while since I looked at it, but I remember it has some good features.

Related: BaseCase.com (read only graphs etc), stoic.com (MS Access style), www.spreadsheetconverter.com (maps to web), www.smartsheet.com (GhantChart, attachements), http://www.forguncy.com/ www.spreadsheetweb.com (maps to web) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Online_spreadsheet (Man spreadsheets, ZK Spreadsheet is impressive), http://www.live-documents.com/ flash based high quality spreadsheet. http://www.cloudstitch.io/ (maps data to GUI widgets), AppSheet.com columns of data, images, combo, etc shows as form on mobile.

The thing for this project is developer time. It requires a large amount of developer time to add advanced features. That normally means paying someone, or finding developers who have time available.

Telling others about ethercalc adds a lot of value. As that brings developers who add features.
