Mineral field saturation per base isn't taken into account #60

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Put final deadline 200 drones, deadline 120:0
2. start

What is the expected output?

What do you see instead?
Failed to meet waypoint. BuildQueen
At time: 120:00
Minerals: 724127

thats average mineral rate of 6034/ minute which means running 7.4 bases on
full saturation for 120 minutes.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0015 Windows vista 32bit

Please provide any additional information below.
Would get more accurate timings for builds if this was taken into account,
still, pretty low priority.

When I do that it gets me 9 hatcheries and 180 drones by 14 minutes, so around
700k minerals seems realistic. (Mineral Patches don't mine out right now)

In one base total minerals are 8x 1500 = 12000, which means for 700k minerals
you would have to exhaust 58 bases.

Taking into account only normal mineral bases.
It would be more than that since rich minerals/high yields only have 6 x 1500 =
9000 minerals.
(this assumes high yield fields are taken into account)

Mineral field saturation is taken into account in 0017+, and I don't see why
minerals mined matters for a build order optimizer. Maybe for an AI that plays
the whole game for you, but...

Minerals mined matters since if the optimizer gets more minerals than its
really possible, it gets results impossible to undertake. But if saturation is
taken into account then the "defect" i reported is fixed.
