Cross reference with .gov.br domain name registration #12

The Brazilian government used to keep track of .gov.br domain name registration, with information like the postal code and company number (CNPJ) for each registered domain. By cross-referencing this dataset with the municipality websites, it could be enriched with more data.

O governo brasileiro costumava guardar o registro dos domínios .gov.br, com informações como o CEP e CNPJ. Cruzar esse conjunto de dados com os sites municipais poderia enriquecê-lo com mais dados.

This dataset is no longer available. It downloads an empty CSV file.

This issue depends on the availability of that data.

The dataset is now back in working order.

augusto-herrmann commented 4 years ago

The CSV is empty again.

If it gets back in working order, first thing we should do is to back it up in case it happens again.

The dataset is working again. I've now saved a local copy.

However, this dataset contains almost exclusively federal level domain names only. Municipal domains are usually subdomains of the state abbreviation, e.g. sp.gov.br, mg.gov.br, etc., which are usually handled by state-level public IT companies. Those are, AFAIK, not published as open data.

I will try to cross-reference this with the existing data, but there are probably few domain names in common.
