Author: anchorschmidt By lagging, I meant that the game starts stuttering and that it runs at about 2 frames per second. I should have been clearer
Author: hikerstk The music message is just related to the game becoming too slow.
I can't see a real reason for that - the track might not be the 'lightest' one, but you are playing with a reasonable number of karts. Can you check the system load at that time? Perhaps something else on your system is interfering?
Could you try reducing the graphical details (in settings), and even switching off music and sfx? If you can see any particular option helping, please let us know.
Author: anchorschmidt I tried what you told me to do. I turned off graphic details, music and sfx and the track ran smoothly. When I turned on music, it still ran smoothly.
When I turn on sfx it runs less smoothly but I am still able to play (it was measured as 15fps). When I pass the bend that I told you about earlier, that is when the fps becomes drastically low and the warning messages start flashing at the same interval as the framerate.
Here is exactly where this happens on the track. [http://i.imgur.com/iP5ML.jpg/screenshot]
Author: hikerstk Do I understand it correctly that the slow down is caused by sound effect? I.e. you can select higher graphical effects, activate music (but no sfx), and Green Valley runs smooth?
Can you first check that you have the latest driver for your sound card installed.
If this doesn't help, can you try to remove the sfx one at a time, to see which is causing the problem?
First create a copy of .../data/tracks/greenvalley (so that you can restore the original settings later) - just copy it to a place outside of data/tracks (otherwise both the copy and the original track would be picked up in game, making it hard for you to decide which icon is which).
Then remove the <sfx ... > lines from .../data/tracks/greenvalley/materials.xml, and see if any one of them causes the problem. If not, edit scene.xml, and remove the lines [<object type="sfx-emitter" ... /code Make sure to remove both lines in these cases - the one starting with <object ...>, and the corresponding one with .

Whenever I open Green Valley (from Story Mode or from the normal track selection) it starts lagging like crazy after the first bend. In the terminal, the error (Warning, music not playing at the correct time starts flashing). I have attached the screenshot with this bug.
