Kart flattened for no reason in battle mode #921

Reported on forum, to investigate :

Hi There! I have been playing stk for almost 2 years now, and I
think its a great game! I have been testing out the new 0.8.1
versions with my siblings, and we have noticed that sometimes
during battle mode one of our karts will suddenly go flat. It
looks exactly as if it was hit by a fly swatter, it drives slowly,
and then after a few seconds it goes back to normal. The player
doesn't lose a life when it happens, there is no sound effect,
and it happens at completely random times, even when no one in
the game has a fly swatter! It doesn't seem to happen in any
game mode except battle mode. Is this a bug, or is it supposed
to be happening? Thanks a lot, and keep up the great work on a
great game!
