Mockups #12

Might be a little early to already think about Mockups, but I personally love them as a discussion basis. I usually use balsamiq (whereas mostly for apps), do you have any other preferences?

Never too early for mockups!

Balsamiq is solid, I use it as well. I've also used Evernote in the past to quickly draw up some landing page mockups but...would not recommend. Balsamiq is way better. I'd also like to know if there are better tools out there that you guys recommend.

I quite like Marvel as well. Happy with Balsamiq though.

To go along with mockups, perhaps we start spit-balling some logo ideas too.

I think some play on this symbol would be cool. According to wikipedia, it is commonly used to represent the the pursuit of Tao (or Dao). Also it looks kind of like a hub and spoke network map. Maybe we replace the ying yang symbol in the middle with something a little more relevant to our use case. pakua_with_frame svg

Logo ideas are always great! but I would propose another issue for this topic. Marvel looks cool as well, I just really love that Balsamiq can be used as a google drive icon. Is it possible to work on Marvel Mockups collaborative as well?

I just stumbled upon the Maidsafe Forum: https://forum.safenetwork.io/latest On the first glance I really like their design, especially the sort by category option and the overview of the involved user in the specific topic. Probably other DACs could be a good inspiration source

The sort by categories option is cool. Somewhat redundant if you organise it in a typical forum style with nested sub-forums. How would you handle nested categories in this model?

vmichalik commented 8 years ago

Marvel has really good collaboration elements but if you guys want to use Balsamiq that's cool with me, I am just as familiar.

https://www.reddit.com/r/slockit https://news.ycombinator.com/ are both inspirations of mine when approaching this concept. the more minimal the better (e.g. more like HN), at least to start.

https://github.com/discourse/discourse this is the open source project behind the MaidSafe forum btw

@vmichalik Looks like discourse could be a great option to start with.
