As discussed in meeting on 2018-09-26, direct launching of the CoESRA Virtual Desktop platform from Ecocloud is desired, with as much of the auth stuff integrated so that users don't have to repeatedly sign in to different services.
There was already a test platform set up that allowed CoESRA to control the launching of Ecocloud notebook servers from their end, so it should be similar, just with the roles of the two sites reversed.
