There is an issue with files being deleted when users have a server running and upload files in the Workspace UI and then terminate their server. It goes to last-one-wins.
Need to disable the workspace UI when there is an open server running. Defer the user to uploading the data files in the server workspace folder - something like the text below...
You currently have an active compute server running. To upload files into your workspace please do so from your server environment as this will ensure your workspace is synced and ready to use. Your files will then appear here for your reference and access when you terminate your server.
