A while ago there was talk about an achievement and badge system for applications, games and general community achievements. Time to bring that idea back through the use of Trading Cards. This system will allow games and applications integrated with Tony, such as snailrace (which doesn't exist), to create and register their own trading cards. These cards can vary in functionality, serving as game elements, achievement rewards, or collectibles. This initiative aims to integrate alongside with the Tony wallet #10, enhancing both engagement and economic interaction within the community.
Example Usage:
Cards like snail cards might have a finite number of uses before they expire, adding a strategic layer to gameplay through deck building. Additionally, other cards like snail food or care items can be introduced to replenish or enhance main cards, purchasable via Tony wallet.
Feature Requirements:
Card Registration and Management: Applications should be able to register trading cards providing essential details such as a unique name, title, description, rarity, current and maximum usages (or even not usable) card value, tradability status, and an SVG graphic (resolution 750x1050).
Economic Interaction: The system should allow cards to be bought, sold, and traded within the community using the Tony wallet, unless marked untradeable. This fosters an active marketplace and economic engagement. Cards can be marked as not buyable as they are achievement or rewards through winnings.
Implementation Considerations:
Standardization and Guidelines: Develop comprehensive community and developer guidelines to ensure uniformity in how cards are created, valued, and integrated within the economy. This is crucial to prevent inflation or devaluation of the card system and to maintain a balanced economic environment.
Developer Accessibility: Provide clear APIs and documentation to make it easy for developers to integrate and manage trading cards within their applications and games. Ensure that the card system is flexible enough to accommodate a variety of game mechanics and community activities.
Rules of Registration: Applications are responsible for managing their own cards (usage tracking, distribution to players), while the card registry serves primarily as a repository and interface for linking cards to users.
For the time being, a user can only have 1 of a given card. It may be beneficial to have quantity for shop items, the downside is trying to deal with usages of the items without breaking the economy.
