You can select which profiles to use for a device in the native Android
software. All you do is long press the device in the list in your settings
Bluetooth device list. A dialog will show supported profiles. Uncheck the
ones you don't want to use.
As far as using another stream, issue 63 was launched long ago to address this.
There is hope that Android 4.2 and up may support this but I have not had time
to dig into it.

Thanks for the quick reply - I was aware of the option to uncheck the profile,
but as I said, this doesn't work on my phone (Droid 4 ICS 4.0.4) for some
reason - it seems to simply ignore the setting. I was hoping that A2DPVolume
might be able to act as a work around for me.
Reading issue 63 - are we saying that you have managed to get SMS audio routed
as "phone" audio so it breaks into the radio's normal audio output? That would
be a suitable alternative for me if the navigation messages could be routed
that way too.
Cheers,
Steve

Issues 63 is the desire to route streams from other apps which I cannot do now.
Yes, I too have the navigation issue. Hope to find a solution. Maybe
Lollipop will bring some options.
