SD-ext #8

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I really love this app, but I would very much like for it to be able to also
handle SD-ext3 in addition to the existing cap[ability to handle SD Storage &
Internal Storage.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would like to be able to choose not only SD Storage & Internal Storage, but
also be able to see the detailed information about the SD-ext3 (extension).

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
DiskUsage v2.0.5
on
CyanogenMod CM-7.0.0-N1
Which is Gingerbread (Android 2.3.3)
on a Nexus One device

Please provide any additional information below.
You're app is great. Thanks :D

You can find initial support of the functionality on xda-developers:

You rock (:
Such a quick reply and so useful ^_^

I would've liked to see the sd-ext section being sepeeated from the App Storage
section, but at least it shows now.
And anyway it's jhst alpha stage, so I'm guessing you're working on that (:

Thanks (=

Could you explain, what do you mean by separating from App Storage? I think it
should be completely separate...

When I open the app, in the version you linked, it asks me if I wanna see the
app storage, or the sd storage. There's no ext option.
The ext content is show as part of the App Storage. And when I add data to the
ext it shows as if the app storage total capacity has grown.
It's great that it does show the ext data, and for me it's 80% enough. But for
proper release ot should have a separate ext section.

I use CyanogenMod 7 stable version on Nexus one.
I also use an app calked S2E. Seek it out (:
Works great for extending the internal storage to my 16G Kingston microSD (:

I hope my report helps you ^_^

Very nicely implemented :)
For S2E users, when we choose the App Storage, it still shows the sum of the
actual app storage and the sd-ext app section. That's probably because S2E uses
a script to move /data/app and /data/private-app to the ext.

I really like the update. Thank you for keeping me notified (=

Yes. I don't handle this case yet. I mostly rely on information reported by
system and a few hacks.
