Show Unauthorised Links stoped working after installing syndicate template. same with omnicron at an other install. #11

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. create a new joomla 1.5 install with rhuk_milkyway template 
2. create a menu item, and set it to registered, set Show Unauthorised Links to 
yes, and verify its operation.
3. install syndicate template, the menu item will not show unless you register.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to see the menu item without loging in, and when I click it, it should 
prompt me to login. instead, I see nothing.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Vista64, Joompa 1.5-20, syndicate 1.5.1, Gantry 1.3.12
