cannot reproduce the Ctrl+\ toggle command on a german keyboard #266

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. click editor panel
2. press CTRL+< (< on a german keyboard layout can be found at the same
postion where the english keyboard locates the \) or press Strg+AltGr+ß
(AltGr+ß reproduces the \) (see also
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keyboard_layout#Germany_and_Austria_.28but_not_Swit
zerland.29)
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Toggle focus between editor and tree panel. Nothing happens.

What version are you using? On what operating system?
WinXP SP3. Keynote 1.7.8.1

Please provide any additional information below.
Defect or Enhancement I'm not shure. I found no way to reproduce the toggle
on an german keyboard. Since there is currently no command bound to the
CTRL+< combination, it would be fine if this could also be bound to the
toggle command. This way all people using German, Danish, Italian,
Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, etc. keyboard layouts can enjoy this quick
way of editor/tree toggle.

Thanks for your great job!
Ric

I think the best to this problem is to let the user decide the key assignment
for the
toggle command this way he can choose an adequate key combination based on his
keyboard layout.

Thanks again,
Ric

OK, I found the Tools/Customize Keyboard Menu Command for defining keyboard
shortcuts. But I could not find a toggle focus between editor and tree panel
command
in the command list. Did I miss it or is there currently no such command in the
list?

Thanks,
Ric

Hi Ric,
to switch the focus between Editor window and tree panel you use ctrl+shift+tab
and
tab to switch back to editor. This should work on any keyboard layout.

Yes I know, but this is NOT a toggle, since you have two different keyboard
shortcuts
for one command (namely switching panles) depending where you currently are.
When the
focus is on the tree panel Shift+Ctrl+Tab switches to the previous note (tab).

Thanks anyway!
Ric
