Relative paths in Links (relative to .knt file) #325

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

KeyNote NF should admit relative paths in hyperlinks to files. Paths
relative to the folder where keynote.exe is found.

I have thought that it is better to make paths relative to the .knt file.
Revised in r135

Hi, You wrote: ....although you can delete part of that reference to make it
relative. "c:\somefolder\myfile.knt" to "myfile.knt" .... I'm sorry but this
doesn' work. The link is only valid as long as it is used within the same drive
(for example "E"). Using the stick on an other computer where the drive becomes
automatically (for example) "H" no link will work.

My .knt files are in "KeyNoteData", the files I want to link are in
"KeyNoteData/files/xxx", therefor I buided the link altering
"E:\KeyNoteData\files\xxx\filename.ext" to "files\xxx\filename.ext".

Well, the problem was very simple although the behaviour was not so clear. It
worked ok most times, but not always.. I was simply using an incorrect variable
to obtain the .knt path: a variable that it is loaded with the file to open
when you start KeyNote (with last file, user file or indicated in command
line). That variable is not set when you simply open a new file from inside
KeyNote.

It has been corrected in revision r139

Thanks for your help

Hi dkfm
I'm actually preparing a new forum, much more powerful and flexible than the
actual forum in Google Groups. It will be at SourceForge.net.

Also, I am going to use again the Files repository of SourceForge. There I can
organize better the files. My idea is to maintain only one last beta version,
and at the same time, upload (and update) it more frequently.

Soon I will tell you the new URLs and the availability of the new Beta.

Regards
