Currently we fill the area at the top of the Media sidebar with file thumbnails and remove them one by one as they are uploaded, adding them below with their appropriate thumbnail.
The only way for a user to know if files are being uploaded is to either scroll to the bottom, or focus on the uploading file asset thumbnail file names.
Proposal to change how we display upload status to users:
Once user selects files, clicks upload. A progress bar would appear with text "0 of 67 Files uploaded" that would update as files are uploaded.
