Grid display #180

Hi all,

Web Plot Digitizer is one of my favorite tool for digitizing plots.

However, I am stuck on Engauge (less ergonomic) at work because of a missing key feature: grid display.

Sometimes the graph is not perfectly horiontal/vertical and can even be a bit deformed. It would be very good if one could check that the calibration is relevant everywhere in the chart (and not only there were we defined X1/X2 Y1/Y2).

With grid display, this would take 1/10sec to check that, and to adjust the calibration if needed.

Many other digitizers do that (Engauge, Plot Digitizer, ...)

All the best,

Edit: Here is the reason why grid lines are very helpful : https://github.com/markummitchell/engauge-digitizer/issues/123#issuecomment-216328435

@sagregrevc - grid suppression is available under "Axes" on the left:

Some more info about this: https://automeris.io/WebPlotDigitizer/blog/posts/grid_removal.html

The original comment is to show a grid overlay btw

@sagregrevc In addition to grid suppression, the digitization of a trace can rely on the trace's color, or use of the pen (of adjustable width), and by manual selection of points considered "representative enough". One can apply multiple methods on one trace, too. If the result is not yet good enough, individual points can be moved (and removed) prior to the export.
