The current cross-distribution Linux packaging works well, but is a bit messy, and contains a SUID root binary. Sandboxing the application in a Flatpak container would make it a bit safer and easier to distribute.
I'm distributing whatever electron-packager spits out right now due to lack of time to do anything better. I'll take a look at Flatpak :) Thanks for the tip.
