oh, it eventually rebooted. trying again, let's see if nice
makes a difference.
ok, better, no more watchdog timeouts, resprings and reboots. I hope I'll remember to run it with nice -n 19 next time.
a second run caused ios to restart springboard when backing up a large app + data (200Mb size) even with nice -n 19. then it rebooted in the middle of running. I've got no other idea what to do.
@autopear what would you suggest? Can you optimize some things? at first ipainstaller looked like a great tool, but these problems keep me from actually being able to use it.
perhaps you could implement a smarter less memory-intensive compression method? this seems to also be an issue:

Would like to see an update made to fix this. Using iOS 10.2, iPhone 5, h3lix RC5.
I started backing up a long list of apps via screen.
ssh connection is dropped, springboard has crashed and never returns to lockscreen.
I believe this is due to high cpu usage to which iOS tries to respond with respringing.
The next time I'll run with
nice
(now I can't even touch it until it finishes, ssh connections are rejected, it only replies to ping) but maybe there could be some improvement in the ipainstaller itself?
