Got myself a copy of this book -- From 2019, covers the fundamentals in a fairly accessible way, and includes practical examples worked out in Python. Could consider including it as reference material?

oh that's cool, nice that it comes with a python repo for the code (and datasets, which is almost as important to follow along haha) I'm not sure exactly where to include it, but i've added it to https://github.com/averykhoo/data-science-training-package/blob/master/README.md#added-by-avery-maybe-well-look-at-them-someday for now also i've added you to the repo, feel free to edit haha
